India City’s Metro Provides Commuters with Last-mile Connectivity

Metro users won’t have to waste time and energy trying to get a transport to their office or home from station. Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd which operates the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) line, has tied up with Ola on-demand taxi-hailing services to provide quick and hassle-free last mile connectivity to commuters.

An MMOPL official said, “We have have tied up with Ola to provide convenient and cost-effective last-mile connectivity option to commuters with innovative features like designated pick-up points or hot-spots called Ola Zones which will be visible on the Ola app. They will function just like normal taxi stands around the stations.”

He said this services would be available for Rs 3 per km, which is substantially lower than rate for Ola’s other services. MMOPL claimed that these fares will be comparable with other modes of transport even on busy routes such as Saki Naka Metro Station to Powai.
