PORSCHE Partnership with WTA for Singapore Finals
A fleet of 40 Porsches will chauffeur officials and players around Singapore as part of the automaker’s second year as official automotive partner of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore. In conjunction with the third installation of WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Finals, presented by SC Global, the car brand will be introducing its new Cayenne Platinum Edition and featuring its compact SUV, the Macan.
Porsche has supported women’s tennis since 1978, when the brand first titled the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, Europe’s oldest women’s indoor tournament. Professional tennis player Angelique Kerber is currently the company’s global brand ambassador. She won her first Grand Slam at the Australian Open, along with winning the 2016 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and placing second in the Singles segment of WTA’s Road to Singapore.
Karsono Kwee, executive chairman of Stuttgart Auto, part of the Eurokars Group, noted that the strategic partnership bringing together 40 Porsches, is the world’s “first occurrence outside of the Stuttgart Open”. Melissa Pine, VP of WTA Asia-Pacific and tournament director of the WTA Finals, said Porsche’s partnership will “further exemplify the level of precision and excellence of both brands”.
