Amazon will pay you £15 an hour to Deliver Parcels

Amazon is offering people with a car and a bit of spare time a way to earn some extra cash – by delivering parcels.

In an Uber-style employment model, the online retail giant is willing to pay people up to £15 an hour for getting packages to customers.

The scheme, called Amazon Flex, will be piloted in Birmingham this month before being rolled out across the country.

Jeff Bezos, founder of the company, has said his ultimate aim is for customers to receive their purchase within half an hour of ordering.

Amazon has already posted a recruitment advertisement on the Birmingham sections of popular selling website Craigslist .

The post reads: “Earn £13-£15 per hour including tips delivering packages with Amazon.

“All you need is a vehicle, an Android phone, and some free time.

Applicants need to be 18 or older, have the right to work in the UK and pass a background check.

But the ad makes it clear earnings are not guaranteed.

Amazon has already launched its Prime service, where 15,000 products are available within an hour of purchase.
