Mahindra Launches Electric Van in India

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) today launched the electric version of commercial vehicle Supro priced at 8.45 lakh (commercial van) and Rs 8.75 lakh (passenger van) in Delhi.

The prices take into account state subsidies and the incentives under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) India scheme.

e-Supro is equipped with a single motor that produces 25 kW of power and 90 Nm of torque, powered by a 72 V Li-ion battery pack with a top speed of 60 km/h.  The maximum driving range is 115 km and 112 km for the cargo van and passenger van respectively.

Pravin Shah, chief executive (automotive division) said, “We believe in the future of mobility. Retail markets are getting reorganised with the advent of the digital media. We feel these are the right products to go into every nook and corner.”

The products are being introduced in India. There are no plans to export them immediately.
