BestMile and The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz unveiled their association during the Urban Mobility in India Conference
Lausanne (Switzerland), Gurajat (India), November 21, 2016 – The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz, the pioneering company in Self Driving Vehicle Technology development and BestMile, specialized in management and optimization for autonomous vehicles’ fleets presented for the first time their collaboration to deliver a complete autonomous mobility solution for private sites and public transportation.
The collaboration between the Swiss-based startup and the Indian company was disclosed during the 2016 Urban Mobility in India Conference which took place in Gurajat last week. The two partners took advantage of their joint presentation to formalize their collaboration. BestMile will provide its expertise and platform for fleet management and optimization of autonomous vehicles while The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz will bring its state of the art autonomous technology and vehicles.
Autonomous mobility is already in our streets. Pioneers companies are manufacturing low-speed level 5 fully autonomous vehicles. Thanks to their powerful embedded technology, the autonomous vehicles are capable of sensing their environment and navigating without human input, meaning they can autonomously drive safely, locate themselves and respect traffic rules.
While incredibly advanced, autonomous vehicles are not sufficient to be used as a mobility service. By themselves they are not capable of responding to the demand, respect a schedule or adapt to networks disruptions. They are not aware of the state of the other vehicles of their fleet or of the network they are evolving in and cannot react accordingly. Optimization has to take place at the fleet scale in order to bring coordination and efficiency to the mobility service.
